Confirmed booking is really not confirmed. You may still not get a car.
Enterprise may be cheap but surely isn’t all reliable. You may have an advance booking with them and you would have surely received a confirmation e-mail about the same. But there is no surety of getting a car let go getting a car on the time you wanted it. I live in a small university town. And if you ever have a booking with Enterprise here for a car on the weekend, you just never get a car when you want it. Nor do you get a car that you actually booked.
I can understand that it is a small town, so they don’t have many cars, but what I fail to understand is that when they run into this problem every weekend and every holiday season why don they do something about it. I have rented a car with Enterprise many times before and it always seems to be a problem to have a smooth dealing with them. They are always very strict about the condition of the car when your returning it, the amount of gas in the car, the underage fees, they will charge you for everything, but when it comes down to providing service, it’s just seems to be a problem all the time.
From my personal experiences, every time I want to rent a car with enterprise, there is always a delay which ranges from 2 to 4 hours. But today all bounds were broken. I was not given a car till the end of the day. On calling the enterprise location to ask what was going on, I was given reasons that people who had already rented out cars were extending their rentals. So the cars that they expected would come back in weren’t coming in on time. I fail to understand how some individuals/families decision about extending their reservation should even affect my rental or plans for the weekend or a vacation. It’s like saying, they want to continue vacationing so, sorry your not entitled to it anymore.
Even though there have been delays in getting a car every single time, I never bothered to complain about the same. I always thought forget it, at the end of the day, I did get a car. Thats all that matters. But this time they ruined all my plans for the weekend, so I thought I should complain about it. I went online on their website to look for a customer complaint section or an e-mail id where I could e-mail them about my experience. And to my surprise there was no such section, all they had was, if you have a question please mail us here. I guess either they are just too confident about the service they provide or they just don have a place where a customer can complain cause they know, they are going to get flooded with e-mails real soon…..
I have called their customer service numbers too and have been assured that a regional manager would contact me soon and look into my problem. But I really wonder what is he going to do about it, cause I am sure he can’t go back in time and improve my weekend for me.
