It’s been a little bit of a bumpy week.  The main stock I was trading was Citigroup (C) which is reverse splitting to $40.  That posed a problem I’ve only sort of fixed.  Basically I’m looking to average $600-$1000 a day, and with the new strategy I’ve been doing over the last few days, I’ve been actually losing a bit of money.  It’s not horrible, I mean it’s a new strategy, but there definitely needs to be some changes made.

Another issue is that I switched trading places from one that was charging me .40 per 1k shares and a 95% payout to a place that was charging me .40 per 1k and an 80% payout BUT offered a dedicated floor broker.  That dedicated floor broker, allowed me to make twice as much money off citigroup.  Now that the dedicated floor broker is gone, I need to re-negotiate my way back up to 95% while being able to deliver the same volume as before to justify my low .40 per 1k rate.  It’s looking like it’s not going to happen at the current place I’m trading at, but nothing is for certain.

It’s all kind of silly though.  I’ve been at 2 different trading places in the last 3 months, thinking about going to a 3rd, all about negotiating the best deals.  The problem is, each time you switch, they keep your deposit for a year because of some anti-money laundering rules.  It’s pretty stupid, but people are afraid everyone who puts up a few thousand in an account are the next bernie madoff.  It takes a little more than that to approach 19 billion…  did I mention you also have to get finger printed, and fill out about 40 pages of forms each time.  The difference between one place an another is up to $100-$300 a month, so it’s still kind of worth it..

Besides trading, me and my girlfriend spent the whole day thinking the other was mad at them because for some reason I could send texts to her, but not receive them.  So I’d sent like 2 or 3 and get no response.  Eventually she called me and now I’m just wondering what’s wrong with my cell phone.

My room is also being ATTACKED by ants.  They’re literally everywhere.  I keep a lot of food in my room and it had taken me a while to completely unpack everything so I can understand them scavaging crumbs or whatever.  But now I’ve cleaned my room and they’re still everywhere.  Like, I can’t look around my bed without seeing about 5 just wandering around.  Even if I kill those, 5 more will show up in 5 minutes.  I guess I need to get some of those ant traps, because vacuuming and cleaning just isn’t cutting it.
