Next week I have five exams and I haven’t been productive at all. I think that I might be into trouble…

Next week I have 5 exams and I haven’t started studying for a single one. This Memorial Day Weekend was supposed to be a productive time to catch up on all of the subjects that I’ve been slipping on recently and to prepare diligently for these finals, which happen to be 25% of my semester grade. But guess what I’ve done: nothing.

Friday night started with a visit to facebook, a visit to my email, and a couple of hours of playing video games. “Alright,” I told myself, “I have three more days to study. There isn’t a problem at all! Tomorrow will be the day.” But that’s not what happened.

Saturday Morning: I slept in, played with my dog, watched a movie during lunch and ended up finishing the whole thing, went to my room to play a video game because I was just about ready to start studying, then dinner came before I knew it, I ate dinner, watched another movie, and ended my night on facebook. I finally found my bed by 2 in the morning. “Yikes. At least there is tomorrow and Monday left.”

One of my best friends, who just got her license yesterday, picked me up and another friend and we ended up going out to lunch and then we were going to go to a café and study for a couple of hours. Well… that didn’t happen. We parked at the top of the Court House parking deck, and in the process we passed about 20 cop cars. We went to lunch, shopped at a store downtown, used the bathrooms of a random deluxe hotel, and then decided to go to Starbucks. Haha, what do you expect. We didn’t do that either.

Instead, we found ourselves going to the zoo, driving by another friends house and honking at them and leaving, buying slushies from a gas station, going through a really cool car wash, buying silly string from the dollar store, and dropping the other friend off at his house. We proceeded to jump on the trampoline, have a silly string fight, accelerate to 70 on the country roads, and finally head back home. But you know me, we can’t stick to the plan.

So we stopped at another gas station and bought energy drinks. I bought a red Nos. It was most delicious if I might add. Then we headed back to my house and had to pull over for a fire truck. When we pulled over, “Hey! We’ve never been in this neighborhood before, let’s explore!” So we drove around, got glares from a protective father whose child was riding a bicycle in the cul-de-sac, and FINALLY made it back to my house.

That was five hours of my exam weekend blown away. Now I’m sitting here, writing this, and it is almost time for dinner and another movie. So the question is: Am I screwed?

Yes

Oh, I hope not, my grandson graduated last week and I know he had his doubts about getting there.
