This piece, for me, highlights the unpredictable happenings of everyday life.

Your beauty was the reality I had desired for so many years. I felt the affinity between us as we gazed into one another’s eyes. You were amazing! We observed each other in what only I could assume were a couple of seconds, perhaps even seven, yet it seemed forever or as though my heart had stopped beating and life was pending.

My eyes first caught a glimpse of your pearl necklace. It was so elegant. The cream colour matched your shirt that was covered by your long, wavy brown hair. You were surrounded by many other, yet you stood out from the crowd because you were so beautiful.

The wind blew a wave of freshness my way and it was then that your scent surrounded me. It was simply sensational. You caught me staring; we cemented a relationship as you gave me a smile I could never, ever forget.

You mouthed some words to me which I gathered to mean wait there. I waited. your right foot stepped out into the road and then your left. With the sound of an exhaust pipe roaring our way, you looked at me and then to your right. The screeching tires made my fists clench with hope, hope that the car would stop before it touched you. All hope was lost as the car threw your long, slim body into the air -  almost as high as the cream fluffy clouds. Your body dropped onto the cemented ground that broke every inch of you. I was left exhausted with the thought of what could have been, now that you are knocking on the Pearly Gates  – the gates into heaven.
