I keep a journal and try to write in it every night. This is just a few pages about what is happening in my life and around my place.

James brought Sarah to the apartment Saturday to spend the day. Before James had to leave we went to Taco Bell, (compliments of Lionel.) When we returned to the apartment and James left, I got out some recipes for her and Sarah baked her first cake, (a sponge cake) She made peanut butter cookies and I peeled apples to make an apple pie. Sarah cut up the apples and patted out the topping for the cobbler. It was a cold day and we kept the apartment warm with the cooking.
Lionel’s on the jury this week. He can’t tell me what it’s about or talk about the case until it’s over. I know it’s about a little girl who was abused. Lionel said he felt like crying when they started the testimony. He thinks the trial will finish on Thursday and I hope so. I have a doctors appointment on Friday and I don’t like to drive by myself. Lionel has gotten up early both trial days and left me sleeping. He has to be in the court room by eight o’clock.

Yesterday I cleaned the bedroom closet, kitchen cabinets and drawers, did laundry, and stayed busy all day. I intended to go out today and do some shopping. Today it poured rain all day long. But after I cleaned the pantry and refrigerator, I went on out in the rain. I took my time and picked up all the bargain items, loaded it all in the car in the rain and drove home. I took the freezer items in with me and left the rest until the rain slacked a little, then I went out and brought in everything except the cleaning supplies. It hasn’t stopped raining all day.
It was about 5 o’clock when Lionel got home. I had made him a big bowl of potato salad, which he loves, cooked a bowl of veggies, and I picked up a frozen pizza at Kroger’s to go with it. He had a long day, and was tired and ready to relax. I didn’t do much on triond yesterday or today. Yesterday, I put on pictures I snapped of the Halloween displays at the Square. Today, an article on men’s health.
I had an email from Daniel. He’s working getting the equipment packed and ready to ship out to Afghanistan. I heard on TV that a Blackhawk crashed yesterday killing everybody on board. I hate for Dan to go over there. He has been lucky to get back from two tours in Iraq. I don’t like to see him push his luck. But there is no choice. He has to go. I can only hope that his luck will hold.
Lionel and I were here seven years in July. It doesn’t seem that long. Lionel has been so good to me. I couldn’t wish for a better guy even in my wildest dreams. I have to pinch myself ever so often to be sure I’m not dreaming. He is the most even tempered man I have ever met. Nothing ruffles him. David has been coming over for Lionel to help him on some accounting tests he has to pass. Accounting is Lionel’s life work, so David is getting good grades. Lionel says David can do it on his own. He just need a little confidence.
Alan and Odethe are supposed to settle on their house soon. They are so anxious to get moved in. They both have good jobs at the Army base and their new house is only about 10 minutes away. Now they have an hours drive from Douglas. Odethe’s mother will still keep Ariana until she’s a year old when she can go to day care, which is near their house. This is enough for tonight. I’m tired and sleepy, time to go to bed.
