Story about my personal trials of getting out of debt.
In this day and age we live in it seems that more and more people are getting deeper in debt. Even worse is the fact that some people don’t even realize it. It gradually sneaks up on you when you least expect it. Before you know it debt has overcome you. I have been there and I am currently working my way out of it. You think there is no way out. Think again. First ask yourself, how did I get into debt so bad. Then if your like most of us it will come to you. Credit cards, yes I said credit cards. Oh how wonderful and appealing they can be. But be sure they will probably come back to haunt you. I thought credit cards meant power, spending power. The more I had the more I could spend. The more cards I had I could pay my other credit card bills with and it was an endless vicious cycle. Do you want the number one way to get out of debt? It is real simple. Get rid of all your credit cards now. Throw them away. Don’t wait another second. Don’t let the excitement of shopping with someone Else’s money overcome you. In reality, it’s money you don’t have but will later have to come up with and then some. When worst comes to worst and all your credit cards are maxed out, then you get those late fees and extra charges with the interest charges as a bonus! This is when overwhelmed takes on a whole new word. A whole new feeling, and a new mindset that is hard to shake. How am I ever going to get out of this mess? Been there? Don’t feel alone because people have lost their homes, families, and even their lives because they thought they were in too deep. It is never to late to sit down, pray, gather all your bills and see exactly what you owe. This is not easy but you have to start somewhere after you have got rid of the credit cards that got you into this mess. Make a list of the smallest bills first. If you don’t have a job get one, even if it is a part time job at a fast food restaurant, at least you are trying and this will give you a sense of hope. There are also on line opportunities that really pay, not much, but at this point every cent helps. Do what you can, if you have children and you cannot afford a babysitter, search on line for every avenue of legit paying sites that people show they have been paid from, like taking surveys ect. NEVER Pay for a job. This is always a scam. Money up front screams scam. Start paying off the smallest bills first. You will not believe how wonderful it felt when I paid off my first credit card debt. I knew it was possible but it was going to take time. Have an I can attitude and remember I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. At the end of July I will have another credit card paid off. Not from worry, but work that I have put my hands to do. Start small and end triumphantly. You can get out of debt. Debt free, that’s for me!
