What would you be willing to sacrifice in the economic slowdown? Is this that hard and why should we do it does that not mean going backwards.

We are in a material world as Madonna would say and I would agree with her fully. At least we were living that way up until recently. It is more like living in a leaking tank of water at the moment I am sure most of us would agree with that analogy. And the holes don’t seem to be able to be plugged very quickly at the moment as the councils can’t afford it, but that’s another matter. The fact cannot be ignored that money is tight and credits tighter still. A fact I have been aware of and adjusting my life round for over three years. That is how long, as far as I am concerned this recession has been rumbling on for. You see a recession is personal too; it means we have to do without things, it maybe the odd loaf of bread it might be a new Ferrari but each of us needs to make some sacrifices, something many people do not want to admit to or even contemplate. Certainly the governments want you to spend your way out by using that money that they think you keep from them to pay for it. Again, this is a subject for another time.

Making the odd sacrifice is not such a great deal really to keep what you really want and discard the excess can be a very good thing. You are reading this on a computer or similar device which is probably in the house or work both of which are good things, by that I mean that you have both a job and a house and probably some means of transport too. If it came down to it which one would you give up?  Why? Each of us will have different answers mainly due to our circumstances.

The reason why I said my recession began three years ago is that I had met someone, someone exceptional; I was willing to give everything I had up just for that person. To be with that one person, I was willing to sacrifice everything. I never expected to be taken at my word.

have lost all but the person I love and the love that has grown from that relationship. The actual losses are not overly important. Suffice to say homelessness and inability to work are two big features in that list. And yet there is still little I would keep in my life just to be with the loved ones in my life regardless of circumstances. I would struggle however to give up my computer and not for the reason you would think; to allow others to understand what I write as my hand writing is frankly disgusting; I write if you can call it that, in block capitals and it still looks like the road to hell. And that would be about it on the material things.
