One interesting experience was when I visited a friend in Peru. We headed towards Miraflores in Peru during the evening just when the sun was setting. We were surprised when the movie theater employee would not allow us to enter the screening room before the movie. In american culture it is common to enter the theater before movie starts to get comfortable.

As soon as we were able to accomodate into our seats, a waiter entered the movie theater and asked us for our beverage. My friend asked for the Pisco Sour, while I asked for a simple Coke. It was amazing because they would have a table with a menu and a call button. We ordered popcorn which was tasty. It was entertaining and a new experience for us to watch Mentira de red (Body of Lies).
