My visit with my grandma, my not agreeing with her about joining J-Date, and the scary End Of World Worry of 2012.
Hi, Allison Fermat back again.
Today was a good for my soul day. I went to Jersey this morning to have lunch and spend a very relaxed and not rushed day with my 94 year old grandma. The old lady prepared lunch for me. We had coffee, salad, eggs, bagels, and apple pie for dessert. This woman is unstoppable, even at her olden age. I cry just thinking about the efforts she went through to make our afternoon a good one just because I am her favorite grandchild. I am not worthy!
She is so angry at me at the moment because she is a firm believer that I should join J-Date. I am not so anti internet dating, but I am very anti doing J-Date because of how discriminating that site is to non-jews. I am by birth Jewish but I do not want to meet a guy to date who is only looking to date jews. I think I would prefer marrying a jew if love should happen that way, but I am against seeking someone out just based on their religion, hence my never being able to join J-Date.
So grandma was happy to have enough energy to entertain me but once I left, she ran back to bed to rest. She is tired a LOT. I cry just thinking about how much I love her and how much she loves me and I mean to her. I wish her a happy last few years on this earth for sure!
Once she practically kicked me out of her apartment, I met my father at a nearby movie theater and we saw the movie 2012. Oh my goodness, although seeing the movie with my father was important to me because he and I have been talking about 2012 and the Mayan calendar and all the related scientific and news worthy drama about this, that we just had to see this movie together… the movie ended up being less than what we had hoped for and although we enjoyed the movie, we would not give two thumbs up.
