Dedicated to my Grandmother Beatrice "Betty" Rolando, R.I.P. 1947-2003.

So take it up slow, either high or low
My pride is gold and I know you know it
That I’m now grown and I still remember
That time has told from January/December
My good Grandmother, you were the best
You’re missed in life, nevertheless respected
I checked back when you were laid to rest
My heart still pounds from the center of my chest
Life has been so crazy, oh what a mess!
I send you my messages, when I pray, I’m blessed
Trying to get your attention, I know you’ll protect me
I live with the family, I rap and the rest sings
You’re always in our hearts, we won’t be forgetting about you
We live in a life that goes on, but we’re still here without you

Grandma Betty, you took me in as a baby
Growing up happy like the kid that you made me
I remember the days when you and Gramps both raised me
I remember the love that you and Gramps both gave me
Filling with tears as I pay my tribute
Missing these years all the love I can’t give you
I remember that day when you layed and you waited
For me to be the last thing you saw until you faded
Just in time, I arrived and I made it
I gave you that hug, but still my love remains in
My warm, big heart, and it’s filled with these memories
I wish you were still here in a life that’ll never be
The same without you, but different? Never me!
But life in Heaven is your home now like it better be
I’m concluding this rhyme with a J and the letter B.
