Always afraid speaking loudly in front of the others even in front of a few people. And you have chosen a suitable website for you!

Lack of confidence? Feeling anxious? Afraid of standing in front of the others? These are the excuses to escape from standing in front of the others. However, it is common for us to feel anxious even when you are an adult. It seems that I have a somethings to share with you. Yes I am! This time, I would like to introduce you how you can speak fluently and effectively in front of the others.

To begin with, I would like to share an unforgettable experience to all of you. When I was in Secondary One, I had to give a speech to 200 schoolmates. Never had I experienced to speak like that. It was really a big challenge for me to select a suitable topic and make a public speech. Of course, I would like to find something that could help me to relax and build up confidence. As a result, I ought to find out a method from my teacher. She told me that even if a famous person was also nervous in front of so many people, it is natural for ordinary people to be nervous too. Once I have listened, I felt relax, because even if the presidents, leaders, or celebrities give speeches also feel nervous.

Moreover, my teacher told me that I wasn’t unique in my fear of speaking in public. People around you may have “stage fright”. That means not only do you have stage fright, but also the others. As a result, there is no reasons or excuse to make you feel frightened! Furthermore, my teacher told me that a certain amount of stage fright can be useful. Can’t read this sentence clearly, read this once more: a certain amount of stage fright is useful. You can say stage fright is nature of human beings to prepare ourselves to meet unusual challenges in our environment. Therefore, you will be able to response more fluently and think more faster.  You should heard of “Practise makes Perfect!” Therefore, the key lead to success is to practise more. It is because the major cause of your fear of public speaking is simply that you are unaccustomed to speaking in public.

I have alright told you how to speak fluently, but effectively. How effective you can depends on your gesture, voice and the word you use in your speech. For gesture, you should have appropriate body language and also your costumes can draw the attention of the audiences. For you voice, it should be loud and clear. Make sure everyone can hear every of your words. How about the words you use in the speech? The words and phrases should be appropriate. You should consider the atmosphere of the place. You shouldn’t say something bad when you are in the funeral, isn’t it?

For some other things you should consider are: Never memorize a talk. Arrange your ideas, rehearse your talk with your friends, and decide you are going to succeed.

Last but not least, you may ask yourself whether the topic is the right one for you and whether the audience will be interested in it. You should tell yourself that your talk is the right one for you because it comes from your own experience. You should say to yourself that you are more qualified than other students to give this particular talk and you are going to do your best. You will feel confident and understand the psychological effect.
