An almost true tale from when I was 14.

When i asked you out, you could of just said no, but instead you humiliated me by laughing in my face and then telling all our friends what had just happened.

So, i left you in the park with the others and walked aimlessly through the dark, deserted streets, with tears stinging my eyes. Eventually i came to the railway bridge. I pulled myself up onto the arched brick wall and just sat waiting for the 9.30 from Fenchurch Street to come by.

After what felt like twenty minutes i could hear it approaching from behind me, so i pushed my palms down hard against the wall, preparing myself for the jump. As it got nearer and louder my heart began to thump and my mind raced with all kinds of thoughts and what ifs. I could feel the beads of sweat run down from my forehead and realised i was shaking, then i begun to cry like a baby as i pulled my knees up to my chin.

As i watched the train disappear into the distance and managed to control my cries until they become irregular sobs i climbed down from the wall and dusted myself off. Then for no apparent reason i began laughing loudly as i skipped the rest of the way home.

Maybe tomorrow you would of changed your mind.
