New year is fast approaching; have you decided on your new year resolution? I have decided mine. I am not going to care about the new year superstitions, but instead concentrate on healthy breakfast and ways to reduce carbon footprints.

Tomorrow is New Year and majority of us are busy thinking on what resolution I can take for this New Year. I have decided on my New Year resolution. Guess what? “I am going to eat healthy”; this is my New Year resolution. How does this resolution look? I have charted out a plan to execute this resolution of mine. Let me share it with you all.

I love writing articles, but from where do I get the energy to write my articles? It is from the food that I take, am I right? What are my resolutions in terms of eating healthy?

1. I am going to check on the Recommended Dietary Allowances (RDA) that is applicable to me and stick to it.

2. I will eat my food at regular intervals and on time.

3. I will not swallow my food rather chew it slowly.

4. I will make sincere efforts to avoid outside foods and eat only homemade food items.

5. I am going to sit and plan the menu by discussing with my husband and my daughter.

6. I am going to eat my food happily leaving all the worries, if any, that I have behind me.

7. I will ensure all my family members have meals at the same time at least in the nights as each one starts at a different time in the morning and will have their lunch at their school or office.

8. I will give importance to family bonding and make eating a fun and an enjoyable experience.

9. I will avoid visiting the supermarket so many times to avoid impulse shopping of food items.

Okay…I have made my resolutions for this New Year; how am I going to execute them?

1. How am I going to know about RDA? I am going to check out various health websites and also consult a good dietician.

2. I am going to set the time intervals depending on my work pattern. I am planning to have at least six small meals with a combination of proteins, fibers, carbohydrates and fats at a regular interval of 2 hours.

3. I am not going to hurry up my meal. When I can spend so much time on my system writing articles, talking with my friends over the cell phone, and watching television, why can’t I spend quality time eating?

4. Whenever we go out, we normally eat outside. I am going to make a sincere effort to ensure that I either prepare the food items at home before we go out or ensure the place where I eat out is clean.

5. I am going to leave the habit of eating while watching television. I tell my daughter not to do this, but I do this at times. I am going to completely avoid this behavior of mine.

6. My family is everything to me. Well, with that said, I am not going to prepare the food items of my choice only henceforth. I am going to prepare the healthy and nutritional menu by discussing with my family. My daughter loves eating raw vegetables. I am going to find out various ways of giving vegetable salads to her.

7. When the menu is prepared for the week, I can buy the vegetables and fruits that I require for that particular week without any hassle and I am sure this will reduce my visit to the supermarket.

I love the homemade food option. I recently have had medical issues with my gallbladder and the pain is almost gone after eating homemade and natural foods this past week. Good luck!
