How just yesterday I finally made an hydrogen generator quite simply and drove 150 miles to test it against past gasoline consumption.

Then I cut a 1/2 inch hole in the nearest top portion for a tube, and found a scrap of 1/2 inch hose and cut a piece 12 inched long…one end I cemented in the top of the hole ,only allowiing a 1/8th inch projection into the container, then cemented that in; there only remained to insert the other end of the hose well into the air intake, by making a small 1/2 inch hole in the filter and thrusting the hose through it making sure the end of the hose was in the throat of the air intake. Replaced the holed filter and cemented the hose entrance.

I tested it all for leaks and foiund none . I screwed the can cap tight.

It only remained to fire up the engine, amd once started, to flip the dash switch to “ON” and then see what happened: I did so, and returned to the opened engine compartment and was smilingly rewarded to see agitation in the water(the plastic was semi-transparent) and to know that meant hydrogen gas was ascending. As I watched, perhaps 2 minutes after throwing the switch, I heard the engine pick up a bit, as if it had been re-accelerated; I was happy for a start, but planned for the next day a crucial test.

I had to drive to a neighboring town 70 miles away, and seventy miles back, 140 miles in all.

Having had this old Saturn for years, and KNOWING that at 60 miles per hour it made 30 miles to the gallon of gas, I filled the tank to full before leaving and 140 miles later, filled it again. My arithmetic showed 39 miles per gallon! At 60 miles per hour, well-maintained, it had a gain of 9 miles per hour!

HAPPY, I checked the water level and found it down one liter. I , now seriously interested, cleaned the whole shebang, and eventually replaced the METAL inserts with1/4 inch carbon cylinders of the same lemgth, to avoid corrosion.

If you add in the cost of two carpenter pencils I cut the carbon from, and add all of the other costs, it came to $6.00 even, mostly the carbon, as I had the wire and switch, etc. from some unknown and lost project of yore.

A critic said to me,”You are using energy to produce the amps that make the gas!” but so what? If I save 9/30ths on each tank of gas, I am reducing my $2.04 a gallon price to $!.35!

Good luck and do the same!
