The United States may be undergoing a recession. Many people are losing their homes and their dignity. This is a message of hope during a time of despair, from someone who knows what many are going through.
Over the last three years, I have lost my sister, my dad, my mother-in-law (whom I deeply cherished), my home, my SUV, my businesses haven’t made any substantial money, and I have so much debt whenever a nagging collector calls I tell them to get in back of the long line or ask if they can hire me. I have those moments I want to bang my head against the wall or throw myself down the stairs or do a full somersault and back flip off the balcony. Life can seem that rough sometimes, when the stress of everyday living seems more than anyone can bear. As you can read I have been there at the point of near despair and at the boundaries of anguish and frustration. Yet with all I have lost, I have more in knowing I am very much alive.
There are times we seem so close to the edge, falling over might be a possibility. But if one knows about living life for what life is, falling….is not an option to consider. As much as bad things happen, so do good things.
Events in life move as waves which flow up and down and round and about. Like with surfing you wait for the right waves to ride over the current. While we will certainly face trauma, we will also experience bliss. Our hope is to remain patient for troubled times to pass; when sadness converges into gladness and the brightness of life radiates over the darkness with a new dawn.
We have all heard the stories of people young and old committing suicide for conditions in their lives which were not life threatening issues: getting a grade less than an A, being bullied at school or work, breaking up with a girlfriend or boyfriend, not getting a promotion, losing a job, getting a divorce, the death of a loved one, the loss of a source of income, etc. Certainly these maybe life altering events, but life will continue on, if allowed. Each and any of these events do not mean its doomsday, they will merely last for an instant. We can and will persevere, if we dare to endure the wait.
I always personally consider there are so many others in this world whom have long suffered through situations I can not begin to imagine, so what is my plight or what is yours, that we can not bear to live another moment to see what the next minutes manifest of our lives.
These are troubling times for many and some do consider ending it. But, there are better uses for the moments to think on, how to rebuild from what remains. Life has it challenges and these are some: what to do and where to go when you must begin on unchartered terrain. And, remember nothing can ever remain the same; therefore there are new better times to comes.
If my optimism has been an inspiration in anyway, please send me a few bucks (I’m just kidding); but please do send me a comment or two. I would like to know if I have positively impacted your life in some way…if I have kept you from jumping off that bridge or persuaded you not to sing the blues.
