My thoughts on discussions about life.

With the scary sounding pandemic of the “swine flu” and changes in the Earth’s climate, I can’t help but to think about what my great-grandma used to say about the “end of days.” As a young adult growing up in this chaotic world, I ask myself am I living or existing? It’s a scary thought to think about life after death for most of us so we just exist in this world rather than living.  I always wondered why no one created an instructional guide to growing up in this crazy world, and as I asked that question I answered it myself. Some people may not believe in God or read the Bible, but all that is printed in the New Testament is our instructional guide on living. I am not the most religious person, but I can say I am very spirtiually connected and that is all you need. I do not want you to feel as if I am convincing you to believe in God or read the Bible, I am just sharing my  perspectives and hopefully helping someone clarify questions just like mine.  So here it goes…

One, to understand what it means to live, is to acknowledge and understand what our purposes are and to use those purposes to define our destiny or destination of “living.”

Two, we must understand that when we finally come to terms with understanding our purposes and define our destinies that we have accomplished a higher being’s work and then there comes that “final rest”, the notion of the after life, that most of us are oh-so-afraid of and don’t want to speak about.

Once we acknowledge and fully understand these things is when we can live and not just exist. My mother and I speak about this all the time that “the matrix” has some truth to it. Most of us are living fantasies and are lost in a dream world. We shun “living” because it is too real for some of us. Hence, drug addictions and eating disorders just to name a few. Life can be very cruel on the soul, but we must beat the odds that are against us because we were made to survive. A good friend of mine reminded me that “the Bible is our shield,” and she is right. Like I stated before everything that is printed in the New Testament is the instructional guide to living. Read it on your own time and detached yourself from all bias and perspectives you have of the Bible. I know that I had to. I had to really break the Bible down in its simplest form to understand its instructions on living.

What I found was that each book in the New Testament speaks from the perspectives or shall I say testimonies of the disciples. We all have testimonies and just like Jesus and his disciples they all struggle with life’s hardships. For them their guidance came from God and he used them to write how His guidance has helped them with living. This is why I say that the Bible is our instructional guide with ”living.” We can all relate to each book because life is bitter sweet. We have ups and downs and so did Jesus and his disciples.  So before we dumb ourselves down to just exist in this world, we should change our ways of thinking, allow ourselves to evolve and become more spiritually connected to a higher power. Most importantly, we shouldn’t be afraid to speak of life and living.

Blessings to all. I hope that this old soul has enlightened you some how, some way.
