The most influential person in my life in this case would be Jesus Christ. The reason for that is that I see certain aspects of my life that are in common with him. One of the first ones that came to mind was the fact that he always made sure that his mother was taken care of to the best of his ability despite having other responsibilities such as preaching and teaching.

Another is that since his step-father died as the oldest child he took over the responsibility of looking after the remaining siblings that were in the household. I find myself in the same situation which is a major reason why I decided to go back to school. Especially with my mother having the health problems that she does it is imperative that I am able to shoulder more responsibility as far as my six year old sister is concerned.

I also try my best to apply the Bible to my life and it has molded me into a person that has made major adjustments to my life and gives me what I need to help others in a spiritual manner as well as emotional to some extent. I have personally seen that as a result of me “Following the Christ” I have been able to avoid a number of problems that are common to people in the days in which we live.  I have been able to see those that made bad decisions (often as the result of their parents not setting the proper example for them) suffer terribly for those decisions even to the point where a number of young men that I once knew are now dead in most of those cases they died before they could ever even graduate from high school.

Also by me continuing the preaching work that he started in the first century I am able to experience much joy, from helping others to make changes in their lives for the better. In particular the last ten years of my life despite going through ups or downs I am happy that I made the decision to dedicate my life through water baptism as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

A person that has had a profound influence on me would have to be my Uncle George he has been there in good times and in bad and is a major reason why I am the man I am. It brings me much joy that he counts me as one of his “sons” We just think so much alike it’s is amazing to me. He has always been a wonderful example to me.  I always look forward to spending time with him and the long conversations we have especially on trips. Observing his marriage to my aunt and the level of intimacy that he has with her has really set a good example for me to follow.  He is very encouraging to me and when I feel down he always knows what to say to make me feel better. My uncle is one of very few people in my life that truly understand me and I am grateful to have him in my life.
