Sometimes it seems like Halloween is jinxed for our family. My kids really enjoy Halloween yet, it seems things do happen during that time.

My Nephew was in a car accident

Last Halloween my nephew was hit by a pickup truck. Luckily, he survived with very little injury. He still gets teased about it. Lucky he is still here to be teased.

At first, this year he said he was not going to go anywhere. Then with help he realized that, that accident was not going to happen again.

My nephews friend’s dad was killed

This morning we found out that a friend’s father was killed in an accident. Such a sad thing. The family is in such shock.

I know full well accidents happen and people are injured it just seems that these things happen to us around Halloween.

This year everything is back to normal, we hope.

My daughter is going to a friend’s house for Halloween trick or treating and a party.

My niece and son will be taken to town to go trick or treating.

I know we can’t live our lives in fear of what horrible thing will happen this year. This approach doesn’t help anyone. So, this year we will try to continue as usual, in spite of past tragedy.
