This was our last wedding to attend for the year 2009. Nephew Mike was married to his beautiful fiancee Lissette on New Years Eve. It was a joyous ocassion and we all had a delightful time. The Latino String Band was the greatest and when they broke into "Fire on the Mountain" the crowd went wild.It was the best way possible to send out the old year and bring the new one in.

My nephew and his beautiful fiancée Lissette were married December 31, the last day of 2009. The wedding was held at a church near Dallas, Georgia. The bride was all in white and the groom Mike, groomsmen, best man, maid of honor, and bridesmaids in black and gold. It was a happy occasion for everyone. The groom’s son acted as his best man, and the bride’s son gave her away.

We went with son Tom and daughter in law Jean. We were a tad late and entered the church just as the bride and groom walked up the isle. I didn’t get any pictures at the wedding but I am sharing pictures I snapped at the reception. I wasn’t able to get photos of everyone, I wanted to but things were moving fast, and with so many distractions it wasn’t possible. Of course, I enjoyed the distractions but I an a fiend for snapping pictures.

The reception was at The Cedars in Acworth. Decorations were done by the bride and her attendants. Lissette loved every minute of preparations and was a hands on bride. She wanted to do it herself and she did.

There was a little problem. Our table was number 5 but alas, when we went to that table, it was already taken. The groom’s son quickly solved that problem. Someone had forgotten to put a 1 in front of the 5. Our table number should have been 15.

The bridal party came down the stairs while the guests cheered and applauded. The Latino band sang and played Spanish music on their stringed instruments and the people ate it up, but when they tuned up the string instruments and broke into Charlie Daniels “Fire on the Mountain” the crowd went wild.

Everyone was on their feet and the applause was deafening. The whole affair was delightful. We throughly enjoyed the whole affair. It was our third and last wedding to attend in the year of 2009. The happy couple left for a cruise to the Bahamas. When they return they will make their home in Acworth.

We wish Mike and Lissette a long and joyous marriage. May their lives be long and their troubles rest as lightly on their backs as a summer breeze,
