My epic journey in learning the ways of the juggler.

Hey everyone!

So while at camp last week, I saw my friend standing a little ways off juggling some balls in the air and making it look like it was nothing. Now when I saw this I just had to ask, “How do you do that so well?” Fortunately, my friend isn’t the type who knows how to do something but can’t for the life of him explain how he does it. Anyway, he explained to me the proper juggling technique (at least according to him): elbows in at your sides, hands moving in small circles, throwing each ball up as the last one thrown reaches its peak, and keeping the balls moving in an M-shaped formation. As soon as I tried it, I screwed up. The balls were flying everywhere. In fact, by the time we had to stop due to the lunch call, I could really only make two successive throws and catches.

I decided to pursue this new skill, so later that day I went down to the camp store to pick up some juggling balls to practice with. To my surprise, they had a set of juggling balls, but at $10+ per pack, it was a little more than I wanted to pay for three bead-filled balls. Instead, I opted for the much less expensive hacky sacks. At just $1.50 each, they seemed like the wise choice. And as an added bonus, they even had the camp name on them.

After many days of tossing my new juggling balls into the air, it was time to leave camp, and I had actually gotten the hang of it. I left camp with a sweet new skill to show off to all my friends. And trust me, juggling is a lot of fun once you learn how. For a guide on how to learn, check out some of the links in the text on this page. I also found this link http://www.toddstrong.com/balljuggling.php.

Next up on my list, the waterfall technique.

Thanks for reading and have fun!
