For our Warhammer 40k DnD Campaign, I played an Inquisitor named Amaranath Celus.
I was born on Terra in M40 820, I did not spend much time there, the rigors of an Administrator’s life were too much for my parents being so close to the high lords, they decided to move to the planet Xerxes Quintus. Unfortunately their stay there was short lived, they were killed by the resultant mutants of the white sun of that system when I was twelve years old, I know they saw me, perhaps I unknowingly masked my appearance with my not yet discovered psychic powers. I wandered the woods of that planet, for about 2 years, aided by my faith in the emperor and what at the time I thought was Luck. One summer I found a cave that was lined with technology that I had never seen, it seemed far beyond what much of the Adeptus Mechanicus was able to produce, but my mind may have been clouded as I had not seen real technology for 2 years at that point.
In the cave I saw a man, a normal looking man, with dark hair, tan skin and a rather large build, he bade me to come sit and eat with him. He told me he had been expecting me, that our meeting was not by accident; nor was my survival. I never knew his name, he asked that I call him Sensei and told me that was what he was. To this day I still don’t know if he was human or not. Nevertheless, through him I learned to control my psychic powers, to fight using several types of martial arts, as well as to make my body and mind one to control my perception of speed and time. I trained with him for quite some time, several years I know that much because several seasons passed. He taught me the word of the emperor and what he believed, to this day these principles of the emperor that he taught me guide me to do what I do
. One day however he was gone, all of his technology that was in the cave disappeared that day as well. It was that same day that I met (in my emergence from the woods) Inquisitor Jaq Draco, under attack from several mutants, seeing that Draco was normal I calmly stepped in to help him out, together the two of us pushed back the mutant horde. That day I was made the First of his Retinue and it is where my inquisitorial tale begins.
