This is a perfect time to visit Montana and the mountains. I lived in a sleepy little Flathead Valley in Flathead County for 20 years, enjoying many of the wonders of that part of The Big Sky Country.

The outdoors provides so many activities in all the seasons for everyone of all ages. In the summer there’s Flathead Lake, which is the largest fresh water lake west of the Mississippi. 

Trout along with other fish are  available from a dock, lakeside or out in a boat.

The scenery is breathtakingly lovely from Whitefish, Montana, which is a well known skiing resort town. In fact less than 15 years ago, Whitefish was awarded one of the top 10 skiing awards in the world.

Whitefish Lake is a good sized lake used for boating, swimming and all the water sports a family could ask for in one place. On the way to Big Mountain ski resort, one has a bird’s eye view of this pristine Lake.
