A few details of how I’m doing with making money writing articles for use on the internet.

I’ve been really lucky with my freelance activity lately.  I started bidding jobs on Guru in early December and before Christmas I connected with a guy in Wisconsin who was looking for miscellaneous help writing articles, proofing and editing auto responder e-mails and an e-book that he’d written.   It is fun work, and I’m learning a bit about subjects I’d never have investigated otherwise.  I’ve made back my initial $30 investment (cost of the ability to place “Guru” bids), and then some.  I had to low bid to get his interest ($10/hr), but I specified that the rate was for his January project and that I was looking for a long term relationship.  He went crazy over the fact that I have an MBA, and can write just about anything.

The beauty is that this guy knows others who need the kind of help I can provide.  The very first day I worked with him, he hooked me up with another woman who likes my SEO writing and is willing to pay me $30 an article.  That is great, since it takes me about an hour to write these articles.  It doesn’t really matter what the subject is.  I spend about a half hour doing some research with Google, and then I write.

Then I found Triond.  Since no one has yet claimed rights to these articles I am writing, they are mine and I can do with them what I want.  So I post them on Triond.  I’ve only made $0.40 in the two weeks that I’ve been posting, but I hope to edit this article over time to keep you posted on how those earnings are growing.  I’m looking at it like that movie Office Space where the pennies (fractions of pennies) add up over time.  I’m adding anywhere from 2-4 articles a day to Triond.  Right now about half of those that I have submitted are generating any income, but I am still figuring out what sells.  I think as I pin that down things will get better.  I’m averaging about $0.035 a day.  However, every article I submit will increase that average.  I figure if I keep it up at the rate I am going, in a year I’ll be at about $11 a day ($330/mo.).  It isn’t GREAT, but that is based on my current numbers and the rate at which I am adding to may content.  Who knows, I might hit on a topic that generates a lot of sales and I’ll get there faster.

However it pans out, I’m having fun with the writing and I see no reason that I shouldn’t make a penny here and there for every little thing I write.  I encourage anyone who has something to say to give it a whirl!!!

Great article but you have something going for you that I don’t a MBA which i am sure would make a difference when looking for work. I love writing and can write on most topics and do. I wish you the best and hope you make it to the top.
