Experiences make a man to excel in any field, whatever it is. Yes, I turned into an expert in managing my toddler son successfully during long journey hours in the flight with one or more transits in between.
To avoid embracement, I pulled my son and tried to hold him tightly in my lap. But he got violent, when I refused to leave him. He started crying and kicking on the seats in front, where a Germany couple was sitting. They kept scolding something in their language, and their eyes showed their anger. Of course, my son is great and loving for me, but cannot be the same for everyone else.
That 7 hours journey was so tiresome, that I started praying GOD for a peaceful journey during the next flight from Dubai to India.
During the 3 hours transit in Dubai, my son started running in the ground escalators and kept me busy running behind him for his safety. When I boarded the flight from Dubai to Cochin (India), GOD showered his mercy on me, by making my son sleeping within few minutes of take off. The reasons behind that was, he was so tired by playing for the whole 3 hours in Dubai airport and it was mid-night, his regular sleeping hours. When I reached India, it took me nearly an hour to exit airport and reach my in-laws. When I handed over my son to them, I felt a great peace spreading inside me.

The two months vacation flew like a moment. When the day of travel back to Switzerland approached, my feeling of annoy kept growing. I shared it with my husband. We both together did a lot of research and analysis, to find the various ways to keep the journey without any troubles. By following those techniques, yes, we found success in our research work. Here are those techniques, which could help you too.

I bought a lot and lot of toys, which interests him like car, bike, cycle, animals like horse, dog, etc… without batteries. But I didn’t show them to my son, till boarding on the flight. I kept them in a separate bag. I bought lot of books with colorful pictures and some color pencils too.
Once when I entered the passengers lounge with my son, waving bye to our parents, I released him from his stroller. Holding his hand, I walked all around the places, showing shops, lights, flights and babies. He was so happy watching all and hence cooperated with me. The trick behind this was, I made him tired by walking around for nearly 2 hours. Walking and playing for 2 hours will never do any harm to a toddler of 2+ years, except making him tired after sometime. Hence when we boarded the flight, he slept for few hours. The journey started peacefully. He woke up, before few hours of landing.

Now the toys came for my help. I took out only few toys from the bag. Since they were new to him, he got so much attracted to them. He played happily with them. After an hour, he felt bored with the toys. So I took a book and color pencils from the bag and gave it to him. Thank GOD, he enjoyed scratching on the book. By the time, he looked for a change, we reached Dubai.

During the 3hours of transit at Dubai, I did the same thing of taking him all around the Dubai airport, showing those beautiful shops with colorful lights. He kept his eyes wide open, watching those small vehicles carrying airport employees here and there. He kept laughing and playing with me. For sometimes, he played with his toys too.
When boarded from Dubai to Switzerland, the same tricks of introducing different toys and different books helped. He slept for few hours and that contributed more for my peace. Since this journey was little longer than the previous one, I introduced another way of engaging too. I used to take him for a walk, from one end to another end. He was so happy saying “HI” and “BYE” to those who smile at him, including the airhostesses. When landed on Switzerland, his father came to pick us. The very first sight of his father, at the lounge brought brightness in both our faces.
Thanks to GOD, the return journey was so peaceful.
