How to finally stop this masturbation addiction?

Well most of the people do masturbation at some or other point of time in their life. Masturbation is good for sexual health. It is good – tonnes of articles can be found on net which indicate this.

Problem is not with masturbation. Problem occurs when masturbation becomes a habit and then an addiction.

Well, I am very much addicted to masturbation. At times I don’t even need to see porn to masturbate. I just close my eyes, think about any porn stuff that I had seen and I do start masturbation. 

Initially I thought that I don’t have any girlfriend and that is the main reason of me masturbating to such an extent. I masturbate up to 10-15 times a day. Though some days do go with even a single masturbation but they are very rare in my life. I have been masturbating for past 10 years and now I am really really addicted to it and want to stop it.

I have tried all the ways that I could to stop it. I have even read all those articles on net and tried to follow them. I have a very sweet girl-friend too but unfortunately she also is not able to help me much. Instead, now I get angry on her at times that she also cant help me stop my masturbation problem.

Enough is enough. I am presently studying in the best engineering college in its stream for 2 months. I got this opportunity because of my elder brother and I really am very much excited about the same. But, I tend to instead stay at home in my room in front of my laptop.

I get scoldings from him that why don’t I go to the University and avail its extremely wonderful facilities which I had never even imagined before. And he is also correct, he has invested a lot of money on me so that I may get this opportunity.

I still have more then a month and a half left with me. I want to write a research paper, do a project and utilize the sports facilities available.

Just some how help me control this addiction. Doing masturbation once a month or may be once a week would be fine but doing it everyday for 10s of times is not good and I want guidance to avoid it.

Some of the techniques that I followed to avoid my addiction in past 10 years include:

  1. Read holy book once every week, and later everyday.
  2. Completely stopped input of all attractive things into my mind and completely stopped it. ( I was able to stop for 16 days at max. Next day was one of the biggest erection and the biggest ejaculation that I have ever had.)
  3. Play everyday twice and roam around in open with no door closed ever. (Just could not control it.)
  4. Made a rule of controlling myself to masturbate once a day while in toilet and later once in 2 days. (Somehow controlled for a couple of weeks.)
  5. Made a rule of masturbating only and only on Saturday nights. (Could not follow even a single week.)
  6. MADE A GIRLFRIEND. (I am afraid the disease is contagious.)
  7. Made a complete library of porn and watched a lot n lot of it for a week. (Desire didn’t stop instead kept on increasing day by day.)
  8. “Thought” of converting this addiction to some other addiction such as smoking or drinking but realised what if I get addicted to both hence dropped the idea.
  9. Made a rule of masturbating during bath only and can bath twice a day if its urgent. (It took me an hour to take bath everyday.)
  10. Played and played and did loads of exercise so that no energy may be left to do it. (Strategy was successful for 2 days only, next day I just wanted it very very badly)
  11. Started going to college library, took a part time job in computer lab in college. (I have masturbated in both the places.)

Kindly give some suggestions. I want to control it. I need help.Thank you.

    1. Refuse to be intimidated
    its a normal part of being being human so do not feel ashamed and condem youself for wanting to masturbate or get aroused when you see a beautiful female.

    2. Recognise your pattern of temptation and be prepared for it.

    Avoid being alone, closed doors, boredom. any situation that leads you feelin u have to masturbate.

    3. Request God\’s Help.

    I do not know if you are a christian or not ? this is the ultimate answer to your problem.

    4. Refocus you attention on something else

    when you find youself thinking about sex, shift your mind to soemthing else. since it all starts with a thought which then turns into action. most diets dont work because they get you thinking about food all the time. instead fully immerse yourself in anything else you do.

    5. reveal your struggle to a godly firend or support group

    Have you thought of Sex Addicts Anonymous? Like AA, some people find it helpful. Good luck -sounds like you have been struggling for a long time.
