A story at my adventure with a riding lawn mower.
On May 14th 2009 my husband ask me to help him put a bolt back in the deck of our riding lawn mower. My husband has painted it green so we call it the mean green mowing machine. I am about as mechanically inclined as a bull in a china closet. I was on my knees and holding the deck up to try and match the holes to get the bolt through to the other side. We beat it with a hammer, pried it with a screw driver and various other ways that is the proper procedure to work on a lawn mower. We finally got the bolt to go through but then my husband realized that the bar was on the inside instead of the outside where it was suppose to be located. We had to take the bolt out and start all over, simple right. It was far from simple the bar would not budge, so we had to resort back to whats in every owners manul, we hit it with a hammer. pried it with a screw driver and pulled on it with pliers. We finally got the bar out after many attempts. I lifted the deck up with my knees and lined up the holes and finally got the bolt where it needed to be placed. I didn”t tell my husband but the deck had slipped off my knees and the mower landed on my hand. I told him that I was going to the emergency room because I thought my had was broken, because I could barely move my thumb and wrist. He asked me why I didn”t tell him earlier and I told him I wasn”t going to let an ugly machine get the best of me. I went to the emergency room and had to wait for two hours before I was seen. I was in tremendous pain and my hand was swollen. They finally got me back in a room and did some X-rays and there was nothing broken. They gave me a shot for pain and placed me in a splint. I have to wear the stupid splint for 1 week until I see my family doctor. The mean green machine didn”t get the beat of me. I have made up my own little tool box that everyone should have. I have a hammer,a screw driver and a pair of pliers. I forgot do you hit something with the hammer or the screw driver?
