Not normally one to dwell on New Years resolutions, as I believe good changes should be made every day, not just on Jan 1st.
However; I couldn’t help but reflect on what has been a truly bizarre and challenging year – full of so many treats & traumas alike…

Jan 2010
Meeting with lots of potential new business collaborators – I am brimming with ideas for exciting and profitable new business ventures.
In the process of selling our main London home, lots of fun & games with tricksy agents & buyers.
February 2010
Slipped on the icy pavement on the first day of the month and broke ankle in 3 places. Was on my way to doing my speed awareness course with the police.
I called up my potential business collaborators & withdraw my interest in all pending projects as the pain, injury & prospect of being laid up for 3 months gave me a very different perspective on life.
Did all the house viewings from my bed; even the tricksy estate agents were bringing me grapes.
Had my 36th birthday with my leg up and watched my friends amuse themselves with my crutches.
March 2010
Enjoying more bubble baths than ever in my life, showering is lethal and impossible in a leg cast.
Discovered not only is my fiancé an amazing carer but also that I have a new knack & passion for writing.
I have been dreaming ideas for books & short stories in my sleep.
We have had an offer on the house, from a Greek property investor, good price offered but he wanted maximum completion time, we’ve accepted.
Starting to view properties across West London.
April 2010
Selling all the furniture in the house, it’s a huge Old Victorian artist studio house, and we want a slick, contemporary house next.
Writing has gone on the backburner as I have become obsessive about selling things – I nearly sold the cats.
My cast came off to reveal a skinny flaky excuse for a leg – physio starts tomorrow.
Still viewing properties on crutches.
May 2010
The big old house is becoming increasingly uncomfortable due to the lack of furniture, and drawn out completion time.
We have started putting offers on properties but are continually being out-bid by rich Russian Oligarchs.
Wondering whether we will ever find a new home…
but at least I can walk without crutches now.
June 2010
Completion date – Moved out of our house into a hotel, we have’nt secured a new place yet.
Our Greek buyer has missed his completion date, the funds weren’t ready – think he had to sell a couple of ships first…
