Have you been having the same problem as me?

I had been blogging on Triond for a year on Monday, the 10th of May 2010 (just in case this post gets published late) and after writing my 221st blog (this one) I am compelled to inspire and thank all my fellow writers for the ongoing support as always.

As the great Chinese philosopher put it, “ A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step” and in blogging we knew it the same way, a thousand blogs begins with a single word (or depends on how you put it yourself). I suppose I may have been too “wordy” for the last 12 months to be able to come up with the best stories to tell and share about my life and experiences and I may have arrived to the brink of losing my “libido” in writing the reason why I failed to keep up with my “blog a day” scheme but I simply hibernated to write elsewhere to expand my articles where they seem to be more competitive. I was dismayed that an article I have well thought of for a day had been just sitting there for months without even gaining $0.01 in the lowest end so I had it republished at Bukisa where it earned one comment and an immediate earning of $0.01 for a day. No, I’m not dismayed with Triond not even when I’m trying to return comments to my articles that I have to wait for 5 minutes in the middle of a sentence when commenting wondering why my typewritten opinions wouldn’t get through. The last problem I knew, the sentence gets finished and the submit button wouldn’t get through but now it’s different. I hope I could hear other reactions to this if other Triond members were experiencing the same problem. That was the very reason why I failed to return most of my comments to everyone among my usual circle of friends.

There are special things about Triond however that a blogger couldn’t find in Bukisa, Factoidz or Helium that could only be completely satisfied by being here. Poetry and personal opinions like this (although I couldn’t aspire for higher earnings) could easily be written without further hassles.  The numbers tell no lies like the fact that I have earned $ 0.77 for the last 9 days of this month at Factoidz out of 11 articles where I only got $0.56 here in Triond for my 220 articles posted but the earnings goes beyond that. You are all there for me to make some big difference, my fellow writers. Now let us get back to the keyboard and get the rest of our stories written.

  • Christine Ramsay on May 9, 2010

I would like to add my congratulations too. Triond is never going to make us rich but the community spirit is amazing and that is why I continue writing here. My two year anniversary is only a month away by the way. A great piece.

Yeah, I also earn a very meager amount here with my nearly 200 posts compared with my 70 at helium. In fact, my highest earner there earns more than all my publications here. And the pay has really dropped these past few months, good thing my adsense ads earnings are consistently increasing.

I feel your frustration Will. The loading problems on here drive me mad and as for the money… well, lets just say I am not going there. Today because I am tired, I just can’t be bothered to write at all.

Congrats on your 1 yr anniverary with Triond. Tomorrow is my 8th month anniversary here…
Agree with Christine that we won’t get rich in Triond, I think for me is very obvious, but I am happy that I can write freely and usually they are published. However, on Friday I submitted one article and was rejected few times till I gave up, and then I wrote a poem instead and it was published immediately. It is not easy for me to write at all, so I usually just write those small ones.
    Wish you success!

The money matters, for me I work a regular job but require a bit more income to make ends meet, pay for the Internet, and my pets…
but also its fun, it is addictive and I enjoy spreading info.

Happy Anniversary, and keep on ” trucking” ( writing ). In the beginning I had a lot of trouble, but things are improving. I usually keep trying until it goes through.
I enjoy writing, and it helps me get my thoughts out on paper.
I surely don’t do it for the money, since I don’t have the time to really sit down and write for hours. ( even thou) I wish I could.
    Awesome

I guess the special thing is freedom. The community here is great too. And lets not forget Triond’s payment threshold is 0.50, which is amazing.

I do too support my triond articles by republishing on Bukisa. Truth is, you never know which article is going to do well where.
Sometimes a triond success is a Bukisa failure and vice versa.

But I am stubborn and determined to increase my Triond earnings further. We will manage, hang in there!
