Jennifer Meeks confronted Sally Holmes in the Ladies’ Room about the affair she was having with her husband. At Samana, Dominican Republic, when next Robert and Sally met, they both decided, it was the end of the line for them.
In previous episodes Robert that is married led an unmarried Sally to believe that all would be well with their relationship. He bought her a gold chain when they toured Labadee, Haiti. Later that day, Sally accompanied him to play slots and he went back to her room where his better judgement prevailed, and he did not make love to her. Sally was devastated, and in Bittersweet, she was thankful after all, that things did not go that far. Robert however was in hot water because he once again went back to his cabin late that evening with lipstick on his collar and smelling of Sally’s perfume. Jennifer was awake, the kids were in bed, and she challenged him about it. Robert eventually confessed, he had been seeing Sally that he had only met a few days earlier.
That morning when Jennifer was able to sleep after a rather difficult night, she had a dream. She dreamt that Robert was chasing a pretty woman in a field of lilies. She imagined her to be Sally. The woman was running and he was in pursuit of her. They were both laughing. The chase seemed to go on and on. She felt that she was sitting on a log looking enviously at them. Robert eventually caught up to Sally. He embraced her and they both fell to the ground. Jenny screamed, “Robert, what are you doing?”
Robert awoke. He jumped up from the couch and switched on the light. ”Jenny, what’s wrong?” He said, approaching her in bed.
Jenny was sweating with tears running down her face. ”Never mind,” she said. ”It’s a bad dream. You’ve upset my apple cart.”
“Were you dreaming about an apple cart?”
“No, you’ve turned ours upside down.” She wiped the tears from her eyes.
“Could I get you some water or something?”
“No thanks,” Jenny said. ”Just turn off the light.”
They both went back to bed. Robert was up bright and early. He grabbed the newspaper and dashed off to get a cup of coffee. This routine was his usual habit. Once at the dining room, he poured himself a cup, and headed to sit where he could view the waves of the Caribbean Sea. From the all accounts, they would be in the Dominican Republic later that day.
