I am currently on a 30 day juice fast and I am now on day 13 and it is going great.

I have  been on this no solid food 30 day juice fast challenge and so far it has been going very well, I have not been able to do my daily updates due to being very busy but I have decided to just do an overall run through of what has been happening in the past few days.

I have taken to drinking a lot of spinach and carrot juice and I really like it, I find it works best in the mornings after a tall glass of water. This juice combination seems to wake me up and kick start my day similar to the way caffeine would for a coffee drinker. I would advise anyone who is addicted to coffee to try this for one day and see how it works for them. I have discovered so many new juice recipes that I would never have thought of trying before such as wheat grass and mint as an ice cold beverage, apple and cinnamon with a dash of honey as a hot drink with warm water. I find this relaxes me in the evening when I am feeling too energetic sleep, I started off my fast and I was weighing in at around 148 pounds, my waist was measuring 34 inches and it is now measuring 30 inches and I have gone down to 138 pounds which is 10 pounds in 2 weeks. Many of my friends who have gone on the so called master cleanse or lemonade diet have reported similar weight loss and have said I should go on this but I have found that juice fasting is far more healthy than drinking a concoction of lemon, maple syrup, cayenne pepper and water. I will be going into more detail about this particular diet at a later stage so look out for this.

I have done extensive research about juice fasting and many I have spoken to have reported feeling, lethargic in the first couple of days and then feeling a sudden burst of energy at around the third day. The third day seems to be the “turnaround day” this makes me think that there is no point doing a fast for less than 3 days because you will rarely get the full benefits of a total cleanse. I am not a doctor but I would advise doing a cleanse for about 7 days and if you feel you can’t do it for a period of  7 days then try a minimum of 3 days, however if you have never fasted before then work your way up to it, for example one day eating vegetables and fruits and drinking lots of water and slowly working your way up to a full day of just drinking vegetable and fruit juices.

I have 17 days left of my fast and so far the positives have by far outweighed the negatives effects of having no solid food.
