I have a long way to go…

I just realized that I have been on Triond for over an year now – a whole year! I signed up in mid June 2008, not really expecting much. I just wanted a place to post my writings and see if anyone would read it, needing feedback to see if it was any good. I would probably never in real life show my pieces to other people, too afraid and self-conscious. I never thought I would get so immersed into this online writing thing. Writing is a way to express myself, to show who I am creatively. In a way, it can be freeing, letting my emotions flow, showing a piece of me. Plus it is gratifying when people read your work, even if it is just one person. In all honesty, I never expected anyone to since I don’t promote my work, me being a wannabe writer and all. But to my surprise, people have actually been reading MY pieces. Who would have thunk!! I have been just so humbled by the generosity of strangers who took the time to read and comment. I am simply grateful to everybody out there! Thank you from the bottom of my heart! (My God, that sounded so corny, but it’s the truth!) Hopefully I will make it to next August and grow as a writer, making more friends. Thank you everyone for reading!!
