A very interesting article you have here Pam, Yes, whether it is in Triond or in other sites, friends should be treated as friends,not chess pieces that we can manipulate its move.. I’m not bragging but just like Pam, i see to it that all my friends are viewed before I say it a day at Triond though at times i have to play catch up.. That should be the attitude we should have. If you have many friends then bear the burdens that goes with it or simply limit your friend to avoid facing this predicament.. There are few pepole then and now that I may call true friends but your asking for just one friend.. Guess You Pam, Debra, Loreta,Lauren, Chris, Lianne, Bren, Norbert, Onofre,Payge, Bo, Joel, Fegger, Melody, Virginia, Melody, MJ Patrick. Wow! Am I missing out on anything here? I’m a newbie and have been making a few friends. Just so amazed you guys have found a lot of real friends here.. I hope, in time, I’d be considered one, too.

you are correct, and what is interesting is that one time – a few months ago, myself and my husband, who also writes for Triond got the exact same (cut and paste) message from somebody claiming to have read our links… liked them so much.. related to them… blah blah blah.. because we both got the same message, and I assume others did too, its very unlikely the person had read anything of either of ours.
I am sorry I havent read your things lately we are busy with 3 bottle baby lambs.

Pam, You started out the same way I did. I have found so many good friends here and like you I have those people who send me messages saying how much they like my work but have never left a comment. I do look at their work and comment but if I never see a comment from them I drop them. As you say it takes a lot of hard work. It is time consuming but it’s well worth it. It is so much easier since we can find friends who comment on our work. I always read their work first, comment and then go on to community. I used to spend so much time just looking for those who left comments on my work and sometimes I couldn’t find them.

I have a very hard time keeping up on who my friends all are, with the slow dial up internet, I maybe check in 4 times a week or so. But I do know some names always stand out and I try to check their articles when I have the chance. Occassionally dial up willnot/cannot load longer sites with multiple pictures, such as RJ Evans sites, and its frustrating, because it looks like I dont care. I often try to check one site of peoples when they published many in one time, as such with people posting many pictures.

I started like any other newbie, and ended up having so many good and encouraging friends as time goes by. Sometimes I have difficulties in keeping up, as I still tied up with my job and can ony access internet with my cellphone when I am home. Anyway Triond is a great site to make real and new friends everyday! Btw, thanks for mentioning my name Nobert, you a a great friend of mine too!

Pam,thanks again,I must have read it last night when nodding off.I didn’t remember when I saw it this morning.I know I said I was taking a break,but had to pop in and saw this.You are certainly a great friend,I think you have read everything I have ever written twice over.Sometimes I read all night trying to catch up,and as my friends know,I’ve fallen asleep and bumped my head.

Pam, thanks for the love! I do appreciate it. Wow, I have a number of faithful Triond friends and I hate to leave any of them out. So…what I’d like to do is mention a couple of them who I feel a truer friendship towards, not just based upon readership/followership etc.: Debra Mann and Karen Gross. In addition, nutuba is a growing truer friend of mine. I am thankful for each of these three and would love to meet them in person some day.

A really good friend of mine came to visit I hadn\’t seen in over twenty years. so I will make my nominations now. Pam Thank you so much for this wonderful article. I know that I cannot honor all of you as much as I would like. My MS flares up and I can’t be online the way I want and I miss out on so much, but please believe me when I tell each and everyone one of you that I never ever forget your names and the wonderful posts you leave me. When I get stuck in bed I do read with my blackberry, but haven’t been able to leave posts with it for some dumb reason. Pam like so many others leave notes when I have been gone too long and it is amazing to be missed by people I have never met face to face! Super information and suggestions. Nick Kenney was the one who got me started on having a friend list, and nudged my work in a more productive direction. Since then, Pam, Ruby and others keep me on my toes–and give me some great reading material. It has been months since I’ve had the mid-night “nothing to read” blues!
