If you were a crow – how would your day be ….?

Let me not make you guess about my identity , I am a crow.

Let me describe my day for you .It is a rainy day today so I am not all that thirsty but then I  could not sleep much last night .

After getting up I just flapped my wings to shake off the water droplets and took a small flight just to be sure everything was OK. To be not able to fly is our worst nightmare and that is like the end of world. So merrily I can start the day ,fly wherever I like ,eat whatever I can find , drink if feel like  ,play if I want to,  shout as much as I like  -hey I don’t have to go to school or take bath ,brush my teeth ,eat breakfast, lunch dinner ,study and sleep early to be able to attend school the next day ,remember I am a crow –so no rules are applicable of mankind to me .

I miss not having a small beak like sparrow or like pigeon, I can’t eat wheat and other grains from ground where you people lay them for birds .I can only drink the water that is laid out there.

I also don’t like my voice, you all call it shrill and when I speak you all don’t like and shoo me away unlike parrot or cuckoo who can amuse you with their voice. You even like pigeon’s mutterings “gutter.. goon” but not mine.

I bet you don’t even like the sight of mine .Perhaps you think I will fly away with some of your possession- I mean steal it but pray what will I ever do with it-the ornaments or money, I mean I can hardly go to market and buy things with money like you do or for that matter wear jewels or even gift it to someone dear.

Along with the kites I can be seen flying low over land fills looking for eatables – I bet the image stays with you.

I don’t think you even like to eat my meat.

Let me tell you, I like to eat the bits of chapatis (Indian bread ) you break into pieces and lay out for me to eat – I appreciate your this gesture-thank you very much for this kindness to me and my fellow birds- I enjoy those morsels immensely .

Your kids read story of my thirsty brethren who added pebbles to a pot containing a very little water and was able to drink it implying thereby that we are quite intelligent and industrious.
