Script.

Ryan: Zain? Whos that?

Bilal: Zain, dude Mr.Zee from the party we went to last Sunday!

(Ryan pauses in shock)

Ryan: Oh well that’s interesting now, ill have a long bone to catch with her then.

Bilal: Well be careful is all I have to say, and by the way, im hosting a party next Sunday. Make sure you bring the stuff.

Ryan: Stuff?

Bilal: well you know what I mean?

Ryan: Oh that stuff, don’t worry I have that all arranged for. Adios Cousin.

Bilal: Asta lavista cousin.

(Bilal Smiles to himself and hangs up)

(The scene ends. Next scene, Samar and Rehan are back home on a break. Abu and Rehan are sitting on the sofa)

Abu: (looking at Rehan) What? Are you absolutely sure?

Rehan: Ofcourse Abu, Bilal bhai told me himself! He saw them together!

Abu: You better be sure about this!

 [samara walks in]

Abu: What is this I hear Samar?

(Samar with a confused look) Samar: What have you been hearing abu?

Abu: You’ve been seeing having lunch with some man?

Samar: what?! We were just studying!

Rehan: Yeah, at a coffee table for two! That too with a Party DJ! What course was this again?

abu: samara meinay tum peh kitna bharosa kiya tha and you didn’t even think twice before breaking my trust. Was there a flaw in my upbringing jo tumney khandan ka naam kay baray mein ek daafa nahi socha tha? I thought you’ll bring a good name to the family. I thought you were passionate about studying. Your hard work and determination changed my decision of not sending you to university and you took advantage of it. You shattered my believe in you. You drifted away from our norms, values and culture.

Samara: but abu I didn’t do anything that would ever let you down. He is just my class mate! He needed help in the course, and we were studying together!

Abu: bus samara I don’t want to hear anything else. You have truly disappointed me…. Mein toh kisi ko mun dekhanay kay laik he nahi raha. I will get you married as soon as possible now so that you don’t forget that your utmost responsibility is your family and not random boys. Today he wants help with studies, tomorrow he’ll ask help for other things!

[we all remain still with spot light on samar and the father.]

narrator:  Samar’s father gets her married to a boy who is 12 years older than her. Today she has 4 children and they all are boys. She is a very obedient wife and grateful that she has no daughter because in this society the girls are oppressed. Even though they say females have emancipated the truth is most females today face similar problems. They are not allowed to finish their education and are forcefully married to boys who are not even worthy to have a wife as pious as samara. We all talk about equal rights for males and females but we don’t believe in giving equal rights to females. We forget that females are as human as males and they can also have likes and dislikes same as boys but instead we expect them to suppress their desires and pressurize them to do things for the family’s honor.
