How a young woman was annoyed by doctors because of her lifestyle and gender.
Doctors can be too pushy sometimes. Take a girl who goes and interviews one for the Suburban in Montreal he turns the question period around so as to make the journalist uncomfortable. It was done so that he could be properly advertised in the local newspaper. I call this abuse because of his pushiness, the fact that it had nothing to do with the call she was making and it made her uncomfortable because she did not want Botox treatment.
The doctor could have just informed her that if injected it could reduce migraines, and help to build firm breasts. As he was told that she was not interested he insisted to push his product albeit she was there to build up advertisement for the paper. “Come on”, he would say, “what are you going to do when you get older ” was his scenario and then he went to say that her skin will sag and she will be less attractive. Apparently giving him her lack of interest was not enough.
A Lebanese doctor she went to asked her about her religion, which in Canada is out of place and none of his business. She should not be harassed to answer any question of that nature either. Since she is Moslem and marrying age but still single he went on a rant about how she be married or think of getting marrying. If he is religious that is his right and should not be imposed. She was there for a physical examination, not to be told what her life should be like. Sure enough she mentioned this to a friend who knew the doctor and the word is getting around to avoid him.
These are two cases of two doctors in the city that need to watch their limits when it comes to being interviewed or when examining a patient. Women have the right to be respected.
