I have decided to have an exchange of dialogues with the great historical, religious, literary, and philosophical figures of the past. The lines spoken by them are their original words.
Rajasir: ” It is not so in this world, my Lord. Even if we do good to others, we get back bad over and again.”
Lord Jesus: “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and your entire mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.” (Matthew 22:36-40)
Rajasir: “Lord Jesus, if we follow these commandments, many man-made laws and commands are violated. Man is a very cunning creature, and if need persists, Divine law is referred to and on many occasions Divine law is overlooked and Human law is enforced.”
I could see a smile on my Lord’s face. I knew that He was enjoying this stupidity of mine.
Lord Jesus: “You know that the rulers in this world lord it over their people, and officials flaunt their authority over those under them. But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first among you must be the slave of everyone else. For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (Mark 10:42-45)
Rajasir: “Lord, all our services are provided if monetary returns are there. I see no one following your commands. They are all hypocrites.”
Lord Jesus: “You earn a lot of money, my son. Why haven’t you bought land and a house of your own?”
Rajasir: “This is the biggest issue in my rented house. They all want to buy a house but my heart does not allow me to buy or sell the land which was provided without any cost by Mother Nature.”
I could see that His eyes were smiling.
Suddenly, I felt as if someone was pulling my quilt. It was my wife, and she informed me that it was time for the early class of college students. I smiled at her, without saying anything.
A few lines:
Christian faith should not be militant, things like the crusades were not in line with what Jesus taught, or even the concept of christendom. He also taught that the Kingdom of God was in the hearts of men.
The statement below was said in response to questioning in his trial before the Roman governor.
“My Kingdom is not an earthly kingdom. If it were, my followers would fight to keep me from being handed over to the Jewish leaders. But my Kingdom is not of this world.” (John 18:36)
I believe that the majority of the people regard or disregard the religious scriptures on the basis of the interpretations which have been fed into their minds, or through the research which they have so diligently conducted. All of them forget one thing that God has been unknown, is unknown, and will remain unknown, for infinite can not be in a form. To me Jesus was a great teacher who sacrificed his life for the sake of humanity but to many he might have been blasphemous because he spoke against the prevailing practices. Such ignorant people did not know that He had come to bring happiness and goodness in our lives, and they crucified Him. Not only Jesus, many geniuses, even today, if not crucified, are forced to live like outcasts in this human world. Einstein, Russell and many more had to leave their respective countries because they did not believe in the doctrines of their contemporary societies. Whether this or that, one thing is for sure that goodness comes but at last.
