I would like to comment on the news story of the lady who left her two little girls on the side of the street.  First off my mom used to pull over and tell us to walk, but only a certain distance and always right behind the car.  This mother left her child on the side of the road and went around the block.  All it takes is thirty seconds for a child to be picked up by an offender.  That mother needs to be glad that the guy who found her kids was not a predator and did not harm the children.  Mothers really need to think before they do something rash like this.  My advice would be for that mother to do like mine did and have them follow her.  That way she is at least keeping up with the kids.  I think this mother should be fined for child endangerment and be watched over for a time.  There was no sense in what she did.
