Reflections of a Girl with a Broken Wing will be presented to you in installments. These posts will center around random occurrences in my life. I seek to inspire young girls and women to push forward through tumultuous times and know that tomorrow will be a better day. The events that I have endured are one-hundred percent factual.

Lesson 1…
Not to bite the hand that feeds you. If you continuously bite the hand that got you where you are today, one day you will look around and that hand will no longer be there.

Lesson 2…
If you give people an inch, they will take that inch and stretch it as far as it can go.

Lesson 3…
When people finally get the things that they’ve always wanted, put right in front of them, they think of every excuse in the book not to reach out and grab it.

Lesson 4…
People will butter you up just to get what they want, and once they get it, they see no use for you anymore.

Lesson 5…
The strict rules and regulations that parents set for children while they’re young, is indeed for my their own protection.

Lesson 6…
Having a college degree doesn’t necessarily give you a leg-up on job opportunities.

Lesson 7…
It doesn’t matter how spectacular and wonderful the packaging looks, it’s what’s on the inside that counts.

Lesson 8…
There are people who do favors out of the goodness of their heart.

Lesson 9…
It’s easier for some people to be mean and nasty instead of expressing thoughts of love.

Lesson 10…
People don’t know what they have until they realize they might be on the verge of losing it completely.

Lesson 11…
Even your own family can see ‘green,’ when they see someone younger than them is doing better than they ever did.

Lesson 12…
The phrase, “I was only joking”  is false 90 percent of the time.

Lesson 13…
Real love never dies, it just switches gears.

Lesson 14…
Words and emotions are not real until they are shown through genuine action.

Lesson 15…
A “look” says more than any words that can be uttered by a human being.

Lesson 16…
Some men are like boomerangs, no matter how far you toss them, they always find their way back to you.

Lesson 17…
Having a title means nothing unless you can maintain the duties that come along with it.

Lesson 18…
You have to learn to love yourself before you can even fathom the idea of loving another person.

Lesson 19…
Your gut instinct will never lead you astray.

Lesson 20…
Sadly sometimes when people continuously lie over and over again, they soon believe their lies are actually the truth.

Lesson 21…
Looks will not get you far in life. In order to get to the finish line, one must use skill and intellect.
