A young girl wakes up to a big surprise.

Chapter 1

Meteor Troubles

“Ahhh!” Sally screamed. She had just woke up. It had been an odd thing to wake up and there be a gigantic meteor laying on your body. Sally pushed it off of her, it rolled onto the floor. She wandered why a giant meteor was on her lap and how it got there. Sally examined the tag that was attached to the meteor, which was glowing a light blue. It said,

Dear Sally,

I can not tell you why right now that you need this. All I can say

is you must control it. I picked you, I trust you. Don’t let me down,

-J.T. Extra

Sally stared at the note a long time. “What am I supposed to do with a METEOR!” Sally screamed. Sally thought she had a normal life until then. She had friends at school in her 6th grade classroom, she complained just the right amount, and her hair and eyes were brown and normal. She had loving parents that were on a week long business trip, normal, wasn’t it? What had she done to deserve this?

The meteor stared at her cruelly. She rubbed her eyes and sat up in bed. She had decided to figure out what this meteor did exactly. She started to push the blankets away but was suddenly swept with coldness. She looked at the blankets. They were frozen solid! She had froze them with only a small touch. At first she was freaked out. Then Sally thought about it and figured it was actually pretty cool.

Sally went down stairs and made herself a bowl of cereal, she had a long day ahead of her. MEOW! Sally jumped. “Oh Mittens you scared the death out of me!” Mittens was Sally’s new kitten. She had all white fur except for her feet, all four were black. “Well I’m sorry for startling you!” Sally heard. Sally must have jumped five feet. She looked around, no one was there except for her and Mittens. “Down here, Sal!” the voice said. Sally slowly looked down slowly. Sally’s eyes went wide with shock.

Chapter 2

Powers

Sally stared in horror at Mittens. “Why are you looking at me like that?” Mittens said. “No, I’m not talking to Mittens, I’m asleep in bed.” Sally said quietly, pulling her knees to her chin and rocking back and forth. Mittens said “It’s OK I won’t bite.” Sally accepted it after talking to Mittens for a while. “A meteor huh.” Mittens said. “I have heard about this but I can’t remember what it was I heard.” Sally said thanks, bye and ran to the library.
