I'm sure usually hearing people find this sorrow and beautiful about hearing loss. however to us and the deaf culture, YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY one more deaf person add to the earth, which we believe the hear loss is a gift and blessed...

one example, u'll have the best sleep that most hearing wish they had.

don't worry, I can sometime hear the silence so in my very head, it is loud with what we see or feels. at least I know it was voice in my head and I don't have to go crazy because I knew I was deaf all along haha.

I could not agree with you more that when one door is closed another is always opened. Thank you so much for the comment.
And do not feel heart-sinking there will be some good in everything we must endure.

That is such a wonderful idea. I will try that. What color should we give to Michael. LOL. I will continue as long as I can without assistance, and then when it is needed I will use the resources available to me. There are many in the world much worse off then I will ever be so I remind myself of this everyday. I am glad my story touched your heart as I hope it touches the heart of others. Even if a person is not going through the loss of their hearing perhaps this will awaken others to what people do think of when going through the loss of one of there senses. I have no doubt that everyone can do what they set their minds on and see it through to the end.
Again, Thank you so much for your comment my friend it truly means a lot to me.
What a well written and beautiful article. You brought tears to my eyes. As a person who works with people with disabilities trying to get them all the services that they require and are entitled to by law I appreciate this article so much. Having said that, I should tell you that the people I have worked with over the years who lost their hearing later in life tell me that planning ahead is key. One of my clients spent quite a lot of time before she lost her hearing associating colors with sounds and when she lost her hearing and her daughter was talking to her she saw in her mind royal blue and that association brought back the memory of the sound of her daughters voice. This impacted me so much that I began doing this and I must say its very cool when you really start thinking about what color sounds are. As for school, good for you and by the way you can get accomodations within classes and even assistance with financial aid. As to your business opportunities, if a business owner has a disability there are certain govt loans that you qualify for as well as help when it comes tax time. Wonderful article!
