I have recently been in the hospital and met other people that had the same staph infection. I wanted to share my story and my friend, Mikes.

  • I had noticed a boil on my leg and though it would just go away after warm compresses. The next day I noticed it got larger and started to hurt, the following day I could hardly walk so I went to the hospital. they sliced the bump to get the puss out and drain the leg after putting gauze in the incision and told me it would be fine. I thought what a relief.
  • I went back after 2 days to get the gauze out and now my whole calf was swollen. They started to squezze the puss out, by this time it was hard as a rock. They said come back the next day to see if it went down at all
  • The next day my whole calf and FOOT was swallen, I was in shock!
  • The doctor admitted me and put my under heavy doses of anti-biotic, intravenously
  • I was in the hospitol for 5 days and continued infusions of cubicin for the infection
  • Tomorrow is my last day for 2 weeks of infusions. The infection went down alot.
  • I still need to take oral anti-biotics for 2 weeks.

I was worried if I had MRSR thank GOD it was not. Just cellulitites, staph infection, that was bad enough. The medication makes everyone extremely tired and dizzy. I never slept so much in my life.

My friend Mike, nice guy, I met in the hospitals. He had the same thing, staph infection. He was playing basketball and got a small cut with a little sand in it. The next day his knee swelled up like balloon. He though he would be fine but it got worse and worse until he went to the emergency room. The doctor said if he would have waited 2 more days he would have lost his leg, the infection would have poisoned his whole body.

He was in the hospitol for 7 days and is on Cubicin infusions for 45 days now! thank GOD he did not loss his leg. We were talking about how we were kids and never got infections like this. Crazy!
