True story of betrayal.
Daniel’s office was like nothing I had ever seen before. As I walked off the elevator I stepped up into the front reception area. Overhead, there are rolls of spot lights shinning brilliantly against the red and black leather furniture spread throughout the lobby. The room was circular in shape and very warm. Seated behind the large reception desk was a beautiful Philippino girl, will call her Jeannie. Her long black hair and fair skin glimmered from the blaze of the overhead lights. She was very fashionable and young.
“Welcome, you must be Rose?” she said. I simply smiled and nodded my head. She told me to come in the office and take a seat while she rang for the office Manager, Theresa. I was so nervous that my ears began to ring and I thought for a moment I might pass out. Within minutes this woman appeared with a stretched out hand, welcoming me to the office. She was someone I had seen before, on television. I recognized her from her commercials. She was stunning.
“Follow me to my office where I can have you sit down and fill out your application,” she explained. I gladly got up, shock her hand and followed her down the stairs and around the narrow hallway into her office. Her office was dark with the scent of flowers which were the burning candles she has arranged throughout her office. I thought to myself that this place must really be exclusive to work for.
Theresa handed me an application and other paperwork and told me she’d be right back. She left to let Daniel know I was there and get my office set up. I couldn’t believe my luck. Was this real, without missing a link, I went from one job right into another. I completed my application and waited for Theresa to return. Shortly thereafter, Daniel and Theresa walked back into the office and he welcomed me aboard. He was well dressed and stood taller than I had remembered on Friday.
After a short discussion of my job duties, Daniel had Theresa walk me to my office and introduced me to the rest of the staff. I met Doug, Daniel’s driver and side-kick handy-man, Lindsey, his medical legal assistant, Monica, the office bookkeeper, and Rhonda, the office law clerk. Each one of these young ladies was stunning. I thought to myself, how did I fit in with this group? I mean I was a 30 year old mother of four and they looked like they just stepped out of Vogue.
