One day sitting here stressed out, in all my everyday worries  I began to watch my grandson and his new superhero quest. Feeling a little like Lois Lane I felt I needed rescued. So I went outside to be saved by my favorite superhero Jesse ( superman in disguise). First he took my hand and we flew to his secret castle. Of course, we ran in our bodies but we flew in our minds. I got some much needed exercise and he got happiness of sharing his adventure with someone. I was amazed at how just sharing a little time with him letting him rescue me, was encouraging him and how bonded we seemed to be right at this moment. I got some much needed vacation time because later I felt more relaxed than I had in my whole life. I still look back and get that warm fuzzy feeling inside, that warms me right down to my core.

Later that day, I was planting flowers and he was flying around the yard on a new quest. I was going up and down an embankment. I suddenly had a thought I called out to him “superman, I need help, please fly my precious plants to me so I can save the world, because these plants release a chemical in the air that can save the earth from Lex Luther.” He smiled from ear to ear and I got much needed help, and he got to do something he was so proud of in his imaginary world.

I occasionally become Lois Lane and let him rescue me from all kinds of events and the love we share in our play, as well as our life’s, has made us closer. I get much needed exercise in my body and my mind. To fly he runs me all over the yard and I have found that I don’t get tired. If I do he will gladly let me stay in the clutches of Lex Luther until I am ready to be rescued. The excitement in his actions as I get into one predicament after he other and he rescues me is worth every mintue I spend with him.

I figure the memories we create will always make him smile as he grows older and looks back. The love we build will always be strong . I will always be Lois Lane and always need my superman to save me all of my life . When he has children maybe he can become the one needing help and his children can save him.  He can remember me and smile with joy as he is rescued. What could be wrong with that? What could be more precious in a person’s life?
