A Lenten set of thoughts, thought of whilst cleaning my room, and written down at the Koulouma Dinner.

Taking Stock of Self
(A Contiuous Process)
“Nothing, ventured, nothing gained.”
(An old Greek saying, maybe mistranslated, perhaps “Who dares, wins” is better)
-Lost: 1 Heart, 2 Times
-Gained: New knowledge that perhaps I might not have appreciated before.
-Lost: A bit of my memory
-Gained: New memories to replace it.
Nothing vultured, nothing gained.
-Lost: All fear
-Gained: A few pounds.
Will I always be frivolous?
Shall I ever be scandalous?
Lent begins again, the ongoing improvement process.
I am still a work in progress.
A Pilgrim’s Progress
To the Holy Land.
Will I be Lazarus again?
Will I be prophesying again to bones that will not rise or answer?
Who knows what the future holds?
Not I.
Nor do I wish to know.
Nope, just taking stock of self.
Perhaps my Lenten resolution should be to declutter self.
Put the book back on the shelf,
Since the removing of others has made room for it.
