I lost Dad to Jesus on Fathers Day 1997 and mom 2 days after Thanksgiving 2009. Holidays just aren't the same without them. Only having 2 kids makes it almost as lonely when my son lives only 12 miles away but goes to her parents house for holidays more than he comes here.

Better to be said about one - they are missed, than - good riddance.

I miss my folks. But they stopped doing any family stuff decades before they died. Never figured out what made them not want to enjoy life.

I enjoyed your story very much, Karen. It's hard when a loved one is no longer with us, especially at special times of the year. My mom usually makes the gravy when she come to dinner at my house and makes it at my sister's house too. One day her gravy will be missed as well...

Awesome.

My mother passed away a few days before Christmas, 1995. I can relate to the story.
