My personal experience after moving from Mumbai to the pearl city.

THE BEST PART OF HYDERABAD

I have lately moved to the Pearl City from the aapchi Mumbai. There are few major changes good and bad for me since my husband got transferred. Apart from the many benefits both the cities have to offer, the best part of Hyderabad – apart from the wonderful eateries have to be the  supermarket shopping!!

Being a housewife, I have my list ready everyday for the household items. Unlike in Mumbai where everything and anything is home delivered, here in Hyderabad one has to step out to buy everything and anything. So in that sense its little annoying, but then the city has abundant good quality supermarkets. The experience of even shopping the daily needs is exciting, never thought it could be. Only yesterday I happened to visit the new Ratnadeep supermarket at somajiguda, Raj Bhawan Road, for the first time. Shopping here was so hassle free, and so very organized, convenient even with my 3 year old son. The moment you reach, there’s a valley to park your car. You enter and the various products are kept so neatly and in an organized way that you don’t need to locate any of it. As far as variety is concerned, you name it and its there. All the imported sauces, vegetables, fruits, utensils, frozen foods, everything. Best part is there is ample space in the aisles, which makes it very comfortable to maneuver around. Once you are done with your shopping, you take your trolley for the billing and there you find a helper to put your stuff on the cash counter. The billing is so fast and simultaneously your stuff is being put in the carry bags behind and that too in a very systematic way. The person would then take all your packets till your car, and here you go with a smile. It was really a very interesting experience of shopping with ratnadeep. I personally recommend it to all the women out there.

Apart from Ratnadeep there are many other options, like reliance retail, more, food bazaar, big bazaar to shop from. Somehow may be because of the distances you don’t get to see much of the supermarkets culture in Mumbai. The concept is more of the local vendors out there.

This was about the grocery shopping; now coming to your other requirements. Hyderabad definitely has an edge, by providing some beautiful book stores, which are actually just not ordinary book shops. For example, landmark located in somajiguda and banjara hills, then Himalaya book world, the Walden, al of these are truly amazing. Ranging from books, stationary, gift items, toys, music, electronics they have almost all the accessories you can think of. My personal favorite being landmark, banjara hills.
