If I had another five years I still wouldn’t be ready. Adaptations and alterations are in the planning stage, The credit crunch will mean everything on a smaller scale.

I’m getting married in 2012. Or at least that is the plan! The decision was made 2 years ago, giving us five years to think about it. Do you know something, I believe I will still be thinking it over five weeks before the day itself! Firstly, when we agreed to become hitched, I had not been diagnosed with MS (Multiple sclerosis). That put a spanner in the works straight away, as we had to rethink the home, and, any other, significant adaptations that would be required. Then came the credit crunch, and the dampeners were placed on anything too exorbitant.

Now, unfortunately due to age, many of our would be guests are either too poorly to travel to the venue, or have passed away.  On the plus side however, I have time to grow my hair, that was always towards the top of my agenda as a young girl, to have long flowing locks for the Big Day. I will have more time to loose weight. I am no sumo wrestler, but then neither am I a size 0. With any luck I will have achieved a perfect set of nails, if not there are always manicurists who will weave their magic for the Big Day. I do believe you can even have little stars or diamante stones glued onto the painted nail. Must make a note to myself not to overdo it though, as I would hate to look like a Drag Queen on the big day!

My hair salon provides a special wedding package, which actually includes a hair rehearsal for the special occasion. This is a wonderful opportunity to see whether or not what I have in mind will actually work with the outfit I eventually choose, (and the make up I am already anticipating). I want to look as natural as possible, without frightening the population. Friends have advised me well, suggesting that I aim to stay as much like my real self as possible. (Dangerous). They have advised against trying to emulate someone else, and making drastic changes to my appearance.

All in all I think the countdown is now well and truly underway, and for me there is no turning back!
