The sea is a place where the adult can come out and play, where one can also relax body and mind, or even explore the wonders beneath its surface if they choose.

Although I have never learned to swim, the sea has always been a special place to me. I love the sound of the waves as they meet the shore, and watching the graceful flight of the seagulls, as they ride the breeze in search of their share of fresh fish.

Sometimes we would walk the sand in our bare feet to search for shells, each one like a special prize gem ,that we would place in  colorful plastic pals we had used while making sand castles .

The sand felt so cool under our feet, soft and seductive, we couldn’t resist covering our whole feet in it!

I would splash around in the water, lifting and kicking my feet up in my own underwater dance. The lack of gravity reminding me of what the astronauts must have felt when they bounced along the surface of the moon. Such a feeling of freedom and weightlessness! When floating along on my back ,it was as though the sea was cradling me in its liquid, gentle arms.

You can find a sense of peace there as you listen to the music of the sea. Its been singing its song to countless generations who’ve visited, holding its secrets for the inquisitive to explore. Its to be both admired and respected, for the seas’ demeanor can change with the moods of Mother Nature.

Whether stormy seas or smooth, she is still mysterious and beautiful!
