  • Jan-18th-Strega Nona: the Musical at 7pm Hammons Hall,525 South John Q Hammons Parkway. This production is part of the David and Lisa McQueary Family Theatre series. Based on the beloved children’s books by Tomie dePaola, “Strega Non the Musical” is the tale of a friendly,magical witch who strives to cure the everyday ills of a tine Italian town. Featuring an energetic score, the use of traditional Commedia dell’arte and set design inspired by the “Strega Nona” pop up book. This enchanting production illustrates the importance of the  adage “be careful what you wish for,lest it come true” and you can’t judge a pot by its pasta.   • Jan.22-23- Eagle Days Sat. 9am-4pm., Sunday 12:30-4:30pm This event combines the indoor presence of Phoenix, a live bald eagle from Dickerson Park Zoo, with outdoor viewing opportunities at the Lake Springfield Boathouse and Marina, 5324 South Kissick Ave. Using spotting scopes,participate in activities and sit in on a demonstration to learn more about these fascinating birds a indoor program is held at the Nature Center ever hour.

Approximately 50 Springfield area nonprofit and government agencies will be on campus to discuss current and upcoming volunteer and service-learning opportunities.
