A little essay about the events in June.

Many activities occur in June.  The main ones are weddings and summer camp.

A wedding is the most important event in a marriage.  It is easy to become caught up in incidentals like the wedding cake and the reception.

I have three sisters. They are all married. I attended the weddings of three friends. I am also married.  Each wedding is different.

I am not an expert in etiquette, but I would make one suggestion. Buy some really nice thank you cards to send to your wedding guests. Send a card whether or not the person sends a gift.

Make sure you have the name and address of each guest. You may wish to buy a book where people can sign their names.

At Christmas, send a card to each of the guests. It is nice to keep in touch.

A lot can go wrong in a wedding.  But after about ten years the married couple will not remember or if they do it will be with a chuckle.

My husband and I almost got into a car accident. The rain was really coming down.  We did get to the church in one piece.

Our wedding was pretty simple. My parents and a friend were the only guests. We didn’t have flowers. We didn’t have a wedding cake.

My dress wasn’t white. It was a skirt with a blue and green tartan..

I think a universal topic of many women is weddings.

Summer camp

Many students finish school at the end of June. They move to fun activities such as day camp.

jouIt was my sister who said it in a nutshell: overnight summer camp is half resort and half boot camp.  It is the main way parents get a holiday from being parents.

I have three sisters.  We were sent to summer camp every year whether we wanted to go or not.  Despite the frogs, the outhouse and the ghost, I don’t regret going to camp.  I made lots of friends.  I learned how to swim.
